Baci Bistro Endorses Gary Cordery For Governor

Today, Republican candidate for Governor of Hawai’i, Gary Cordery, a successful businessman and entrepreneur, announces the endorsement of Matt and Christina Sargent, owners of Baci Bistro.

Baci Bistro first opened in Kailua in 1997, quickly becoming an established landmark. The restaurant, owned by Matt and Christina Sargent since 2018, offers European cuisine with an enticing Italian flair. For over 15 years, Matt worked at the restaurant, loving the food, atmosphere and overall ambiance. Due to his deep appreciation for the bistro, Matt was approached by the previous owners and asked to purchase the business. At a family meeting, it was unanimously decided it was time to step into ownership. Matt and Christina’s two sons, Matt and Nick, help run the restaurant, making this a truly family-owned and operated business.
In a statement sent to the Cordery campaign, Christina Sargent stated:
It is our pleasure to endorse Gary Cordery for Governor or Hawai’i. Gary and Kim have been dining at Baci for many years and we have had the great privilege to get to know him and his family very well. Gary’s understanding of business processes, along with his beliefs in government working for, and with, the people, are the solutions this island requires to get us back on the right path.

As a local small business owner, I was and still am thankful for Gary’s fight against the government overreach which forced far too many businesses across Hawai’i to close their doors, many permanently. He was a strong voice of hope and freedom for so many of us desperately needing a courageous leader during the seemingly never-ending months of political abuse of power. I have no doubt Gary will be a beacon of hope, humble leader and continuous champion for all of Hawai’i as our next Governor.

In response to the Sargent’s endorsement, Cordery stated:
I am overwhelmed by Matt and Christina’s support. Families like the Sargent’s are one of the reasons why I’m running. They believe in their rights of liberty and freedom, as well as the ability to live the American dream. Matt worked his way into ownership and now his family runs a wildly successful restaurant, what an amazing story! I am so grateful to have their endorsement and know I will do everything I can as Governor to assure small businesses continue to be the backbone of our society.
