Leadership on Vaccines and Related Mandates; People’s Rights Cannot be Trampled

Dr. Robert W. Malone the inventor of mRNA & DNA vaccines, endorses Gary Cordery for Governor of Hawaiʻi

As the COVID pandemic started to rise, President Donald Trump put together a task force to lead Operation Warp Speed to develop a vaccine to blunt the fast-spreading COVID-19.
What followed was indeed the creation of not one, but three major vaccines accompanied by a massive purchase and distribution of the vaccines which were made available to all who wanted them.
The direction of the vaccination program, and the rules accompanying it, took an ominous turn. One word began to dominate the national discussion: mandates.

It was against this backdrop in 2020 that I decided to push back against the socialist agenda creeping into our lives, eroding our freedoms inch by inch. We organized the Aloha Freedom Coalition as parents discovered loneliness and depression among their kids, with forced separations from their schoolmates, pastors talked about depression in their congregations, and business owners were in tears discussing the loss of their investments of time, money and sacrifice as their doors had to remain closed.

We organized protests and endured objections by mainstream media and establishment politicians who were intent on control and obedience.
The breaking point was the introduction of vaccines. Not because they are inherently bad, but because of the role the government took to control our activities.
Initially, vaccinations were focused on the elderly and persons who had comorbidities such as diabetes or obesity. Most of the early deaths from the COVID virus occurred in those groups.
Unfortunately, vaccines also have become a point of sharp debate.

The pharmaceutical companies producing vaccinations now target children under 5, despite the fact that young children have the “lowest risk of becoming seriously ill with COVID 19,” as described in an article in Nature. According to the article, nationally “440 children aged 4 and younger have died of the disease in the United States…” By contrast, the number of deaths in2018 among children aged 1-4 were “3,830,” overall,of course none of which were from COVID-19.

While it is likely that the companies making the vaccines are following research protocols, one factor cannot be replicated easily — time. Long-term effects for all recipients are unknown. For adults it may very well be a risk worth taking but it is not at all clear why young children, who are so unlikely to contract or die of the disease, should have this imposed on them.

Vaccines became required for receiving entry to facilities and for work, school, even medical care. Mask-wearing and social distancing were required and enforced on a massive scale —even leading to arrest of those who failed to follow the vaguely legal rules for adherence.
It was not enough for those who treasure power above all else to make the vaccines easily accessible, there was, and is, a considerable effort to control the lives of our citizens.

Many states and cities required citizens accessing public and private buildings, including restaurants and grocery stores, to provide evidence in the form of a medical card chronicling vaccination. This is despite a very clearly written law, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, that set forth a national standard to protect the privacy of individual medical records and information.

A wave of restrictions through executive orders, most dubiously attached to any law or the Constitution of the United States swept the nation and Hawaiʻi was put into effect. Violators were subject to arrest.

As an example, Governor Ige, through executive decree, at one point limited indoor gathering to no more than ten persons and outdoor gatherings to no more than 25 persons. Patrons in restaurants and bars had to remain seated with their parties, maintain six feet distancing, and there was to be no “mingling.” Nothing in this decree was linked to science and there is scant evidence that the governor was really empowered to usurp the Constitution to order it.

This is a situation that is out of control.

President Biden said recently that he expects a second pandemic.

Let’s be clear that in my administration we will not succumb to panic. No new travel restrictions. No mask mandates. Entry into schools or places of work will not require proof of vaccination and you will not have to “show your papers.” Children will not be subjected to needless vaccines because more importantly, decisions about children’s health, including vaccines and masks, will be left to their parents.
It is not the role of government to make all your life decisions and we will not seek such control.
Your health decisions are yours — just the way a free nation should be.
